A Medley Of Disjointed Ideas On the surface, Spenser Confidential has all the ingredients to be a fun, action-comedy romp. The dysfunctional duo, the quirky jokes, the deep-running conspiracy and twisting story with a big mystery are all here, ready to be mixed into an exciting flick. Unfortunately the execution lacks any sort of finesse, blurring into a messy medley of ideas that don’t gel well together. The story opens with officer Spenser being arrested and spending 5 years in prison....

The Spider-Man Film We Deserve Last summer I had the unfortunate task of watching The Emoji Movie at the cinema. An animation so sloppily handled and poorly produced it tarnished the reputation of Sony Pictures Animation. There’s always something poetic about a comeback story and when it comes to Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse, the studio redeem themselves in a big way. Visually stunning and impressively crafted, this is not just one of the best animated flicks of the year, it’s also the best Spider-Man film produced to date....

For now, Agents Harmon and Wallace are going to keep them safe, as they’re warned that opposing government branches are trying to take down Eleven and work against her. They need to keep quiet and not arouse suspicions. So naturally, they decide to sneak out and get themselves a ride out to Hawkins....

Slipping From Reality Back for another dose of maniacal horror, Strangers From Hell returns for a more introverted episode this time around as we see the effect Eden Studio has had on Jong-Woo. With more tension and less outright horror, Strangers From Hell delivers another good episode, even if it’s not quite as dramatic as what we’ve seen before. We begin with Jong-Woo racing back to Eden Studio while Ji-Eun heads inside, only to be stopped by Bok-Soon who leads her by the hand further into the apartment building....

There, they revel in the prospect of leading together and having a child. Tentatively rubbing her belly, Spadino decides to avenge Gabriele. At the same time, Aureliano can’t stop thinking about the uneasy alliance between Samurai and Cinaglia – something that could cause them a lot of trouble....

Torture With Samurai dead, episode 2 of Suburra season 3 begins with Aureliano reveling in his victory with Nadia. Meanwhile, Cinaglia heads home and finds Alice packing her things up ready to leave him. The kidnapping is the last straw for her – made worse by Cinaglia telling his wife to calm down. With little choice, Cinaglia hugs his kids tightly and promises them they’ll have a new home soon. Only, Cinaglia isn’t out the woods yet....

But for now, we see a vulnerable Wrigley on screen, one who gets cortisone injected in the knees for pain; the one who has to report to the counsellor to ask if he is eligible to play football owing to poor grades; and Wrigley with a learning disability. That is indeed the big takeaway. He is embarrassed to ask for extra minutes to write a test because he cannot read properly....

The beautiful isolated location will host them for the wild weekend to come. When he reaches the house, he is the target of casual racism from a “Karen” nearby. They’re new occupants but ideologically still in the 18th century when the colored couldn’t own property. He handles it with a smile, somehow, and proceeds to set up the house for his “friends”. In another wanton act of childish brazenness, we see Wrigley “shotgun” the master bedroom by stripping down and rubbing himself over the sheets....

Tell Me When It’s Over Tell Me When is a forgettable Mexican rom-com, missing ample doses of romance and comedy. It’s a movie that completely bungles a semi-interesting approach and lays its scenario on the screen in the most mundane and uninteresting way possible. The story revolves around the age old adage of not working too hard and appreciating the beauty of life. It’s a theme that’s been played out in this genre for years and Tell Me When is in no mood to buck the usual trends now....

But as is normal in any given year, there are those movies that just don’t cut it. These are the films that are likely to be nominated for a Razzie rather than an Oscar. You may have had the misfortune of seeing some of them already! The Mother Episode 4 of The Baby starts with Bobbi leaving with the baby, stopping at a coffee shop before continuing on to her mother’s place. Mrs Eaves and Tasha race after her, eventually catching up under a tree outside, where they’re snapping pics and eating food. Bobbi starts choking on some food, but thankfully she survives, courtesy of Tasha arriving and breaking this up. Bobbi eventually leaves, deciding to see their mother after calling Tasha cruel....

An Animated Short Where Pissed Off Supes Kill Their Parents Episode 2 of The Boys Presents: Diabolical starts at a home for gifted superheroes. Only, gifted is probably overstating it. What hap[ens when there are heroes that go wrong? Those who have powers that no one wants. Powers like checks notes boobie face and Human Tongue. Okie dokie. Anyway, these runaways all gather together and learn that Vought are the ones making superheroes, thanks to their serums....

This chapter features two men who are on different extremes of the moral continuum. There’s Martin Bashir, who lured his way into Diana’s trust in order to gain the iconic Panorama interview. Then there’s Dr. Hasnat Khan, the cardiologist Diana ended up falling deeply in love with. Martin Bashir was a presenter on the famous BBC news show, Panorama. The journalist was already researching Princess Diana as well as her sibling Charles Spencer, though his study isn’t just out of intrigue; he’s attempting to find out how their privacy has been breached over time....
