Endless Love The finale to Abyss really typifies the problems with this Korean drama. For much of its 16 episode run-time, it has felt like two completely different shows woven into one. On the one hand, the crime drama aspects involving Seo Ji-Uk and the constant evolving ideas around the abyss have been lacklustre at best and outright terrible at others. However, the natural chemistry and surprisingly well written romance between Cha Min and Se-Yeon have really acted as the glue to hold this drama together over the weeks....

More Than A Hurricane Fast forward 2 years, Netflix’s latest documentary After Maria follows the displaced families still struggling to pick up the pieces of their shattered life from this disaster. With FEMA no longer providing accomodation to Puerto Rican refugees living in America, this short documentary depicts the day to day grind and struggle three families face in the wake of these devastating policies. Despite After Maria’s short length, the film certainly leaves an impactful impression when the credits roll....

Sixes and Sevens Episode 5 of Again My Life starts with protests outside Mirae Motors. It’s a company that’s about to be sold to foreign investors thanks to its restructuring. Right now, there’s nothing Hui-Wu can do about this. While he travels on the bus away from the area, Tae-Seob continues to make moves to climb the Blue House ladder to the top. Part of this comes from stopping the merger, joining hands with a fellow politician in a bid to aim for the Presidential elections....

When the guards finally find Alex, they watch from afar as he’s rushed to hospital where Eva follows to make sure he’s dead. As the monitor flat-lines, Eva leaves but it turns out to be a big set-up by Jones and the others to trick her into thinking Alex is dead....

Rogue Assassins Linking The Cases Together Episode 6 of Alice begins with Jin-Gyeom sitting with Lee Sang-He in prison. As we cut back to 2010 we see Tae-Yi in prison asking who his teacher is. It turns out she was trying to find out because of her son. That son, of course, being Jin-Gyeom. On the back of this conversation, he heads into the police station and starts digging up old case files....

All Rise Matters We start episode 1 of All Rise season 2 in July 2020 as we see that our characters have been slowly getting back to the office. It is the end of the day and Sherry is heading home but not before heading to the store to get some supplies. Mark breaks the rules and decides to pay a visit to Lola to let her know he got the job he applied for and will be working for the special trial unit....

Taealha & Eunseom’s Power Plays With one more episode to go after this, I’m struggling to see how Arthdal Chronicles will wrap up its fantasy epic in a satisfying manner. With an episode of political intrigue, power plays and alliances, Arthdal Chronicles does well to start progressing some of these characters forward but leaves little conclusive evidence that tomorrow’s finale will close things out in a way that doesn’t tease a second season....

The Next Fantasy Epic? I watch a lot of Korean drama and Arthdal Chronicles is a tough one to nail down. Flitting between fantasy brilliance and confusing timelines with expository-heavy dialogue, Arthdal Chronicles gets off to an intriguing start in its opening 80 minute episode. Set in the mythical land of Arth, Arthdal Chronicles begins with a brief prologue involving a cursed baby and a blue snake before cutting back to show a tribal group of humans running from a superhuman creature....

Tanya’s Final Dance The finale to Arthdal Chronicles boasts an action packed, politically charged episode, one that ends on a tantalizing cliffhanger. With Tanya’s journey nearing its climax and Eunseom making his move, the finale does a great job topping off what’s otherwise been a turbulent second half to this fantasy epic. We pick up right where we left off from before, with the Neanthals confronting Tanya and the others....

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 20 Attack On Titan Season 4 has been a slow burn for a while but this second part has wasted absolutely no time diving into the thick of the action. The final fight is here, and with Eren and Zeke presumably working together and the fate of both worlds hanging in the balance, all hell looks set to break loose. This is the final part so expect plenty of drama and action, along with some earth-shattering surprises along the way!...

Bad Prosecutor Episode 11 Jin Jung is a troublemaking prosecutor that works at the Central District Office. With a healthy dose of justice and craziness, he punishes criminals way more than they deserve. Alongside him at the office is A-Ra, Jung’s partner. She’s a competent prosecutor who always judges issues objectively and manages to handle them with a clean finish. There’s also Do-Hwan, who believes money and power are everything and he’ll do whatever it takes to go higher up....

An MMO released by the minds behind Borderlands, Gearbox, should have been a big success. After all, Borderlands is a solid first person shooter with slick graphics and tight gameplay mechanics that make it a lot of fun to play. Being released alongside Overwatch, another multiplayer title, was never going to make it an easy sell either and despite a few redeeming features, Battleborn is a game with some glaring issues that are hard to ignore making it the less appealing choice of the two shooters....

The Candy Ring Finally the weekend is here which means two new episodes of Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life! We return this week with Cheong-Ah finally understanding why Joon-Hwi broke up with her and why he has been acting so cold towards her. Another obstacle has been added for both our protagonists as Si-Wol is slowly getting closer to Cheong-Ah. Joon-Hwi is slowly becoming more likable as a character too and all this makes the show that much more enjoyable and refreshing each week....
