Vartika talks to the victim’s granddaughter who was the eyewitness to the crime....

A well-written and moving documentary Descendant is a well written and moving documentary; a touching and poignant reminder that if we don’t work to persevere the past, it’ll be lost forever or worse – twisted to fit a false narrative. Set in the small Alabaman community of Africatown, this documentary film follows the descending sons and daughters of the surviving members of The Clotilda, the last known slave ship that smuggled humans from Africa to the US illegally....

It’s here we see the end-game of Assemblyman Oh come to fruition and this can only spell trouble for all those involved in the Blue House. Backed into a corner, Park admits to being fired much to the dismay of the Blue House administration. After the broadcast ratings sky-rocket and the Acting President’s credibility is called into question, Cha phones Yun and tells her he’s intrigued by her offer but refuses to align himself with Yun....

Woman On A Ledge Devs is an infuriating show to watch. Given how spoilt we’ve all been with Netflix and other streaming platforms dropping full seasons in one go, Devs is a show I, and I’m sure many others too, really want to binge-watch. All the Alex Garland hallmarks are here – the eerie score, the engrossing mystery and multifaceted characters – but the slow pace and drip-fed plot progression may put some people off this one....

Pedro decides they should take a break, and heads up with Figueira’s share of the cash to tell him as much. Well, Figueira allows him one month. Just as Pedro is about to leave, officers come rushing to the scene....

These are the words we hear during Don’t Make Me Go‘s opening narration, as Wally Parks (Mia Isaac), the 16-year-old protagonist at the heart of the movie, warns us about the conclusion of this heartfelt but ultimately unsatisfying tale. In truth, you probably won’t like the end of this story as there is a chance that you will feel cheated when the movie nears its conclusion. To say any more would be wrong as I don’t want to spoil the movie for you....

The premise is simple – you control a raccoon called BK who has been vilified by the town of Donut County thanks to numerous holes in the ground which have destroyed half the town....

A Tonally Confused Misleading Film Downsizing is the perfect example of misleading advertising in a film trailer. Despite a strong premise and intriguing idea, Downsizing is a tonally confused mess and nothing like the trailer would lead you to believe. Lost in a myriad of half-baked ideas and an abundance of coherence in its plot, Downsizing feels like a missed opportunity. The first 45 minutes or so are good and feel progressive; seeing Matt Damon’s apathetic character Paul Safranek explore the political and societal pros and cons of shrinking himself is the highlight of an otherwise troubled film....

Count Dracula Dracula is one of my favourite books. It also happens to be free on the Kindle Store for anyone interested in discovering the real legend of Dracula. The BBC’s adaptation of this age-old legend isn’t really a faithful interpretation of Bram Stoker’s gothic horror but it does take some influences from the novel, especially in regards to its letter-format and early-episode ideas; this is very much a modern spin on the legend itself....
