When he snatches the phone back, she asks whether Sa-Hyun’s cheating but his silence speaks volumes. Eventually they head back inside and he reveals that he is. Hye-Ryeong is beside herself with anger, demanding to know who she is. Hye-Ryeong beats him down with a pillow until he winds up with a bloodied nose....

He tries to act like everything is okay but she’s having none of it. She’s determined to follow through with this divorce. Well, Yu-Shin asks for 3 more years and to forget anything ever happened. Pi-Young is livid and disgusted in her husband, telling him that the best thing he can do right now is to stop showing his face....

Sang-Eun’s Choice Episode 11 of Love in Contract starts with news of Sang-Eun being Hae-Jin’s bride spreading across the internet. At the same time, Jung arrives at the courthouse to say hey to a less-than-impressed Ji-Ho, do some pro-bono work and go out for dinner with one of Ji-Ho’s colleagues. This is something that brings back flashbacks to the past, including how Jung never cared about Ji-Ho, belittling him, spending long nights at the courthouse and generally being an awful partner....

The Capture Episode 5 of Luna Nera starts as the Benandanti, along with Cesaria and Pietro, head into Serra and address the people. They declare that anyone seen helping a woman unaccompanied by a man will be prosecuted and executed. In the Dwelling, Tebe tells Ade that once the lunar cycle is complete, her powers will awaken and the book will be deciphered. Worried about the book, she explains that someone powerful has it in their possession – Marzio....

Looting The Louvre We begin episode 1 of Lupin with Assane Diop marveling at a necklace kept in the Louvre. He’s clearly plotting his next move while posing as a cleaner there. This necklace, as we soon find out, belonged to Marie-Antoinette and will be put up for auction in a week’s time. This happens to be the date Assane is going to make his move. It turns out Assane is working with a trio of thugs who seem to hold influence over him....

Friend Episode 4 of Made In Abyss Season 2 starts with Reg encountering Faputa in her domain as the other Hollows watch from behind the green invisible-like portal. As Reg gazes at her, Faputa rushes from behind Reg and forcefully slams him to the ground. Reg doesn’t attack her. He examines Faputa’s body and realizes she is a Hollow like Nanachi. During his examination, Faputa asks Reg about his robotic arms....

Three Shadows What is the plan with Manifest? Sometimes with puzzle box series you can figure out a general trajectory and work out theories and concepts around that but with Manifest, the show feels like it’s throwing random items and ideas into a computer algorithm and letting it dictate the way the show is run. While the character drama is still enjoyable to an extent, some of the motivations feel randomly thrown in and this episode only exacerbates the problems running through this one....

Home Sweet Home Released on Friday the 13th, Netflix’s new horror series Marianne is the perfect show to binge and is chock full of creepy and scary moments. The first series doesn’t waste any time getting to the action, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come in this one. Episode 1 begins with Caroline woken up by her mum who is creepily extracting her tooth with a knife and telling her it’s for Emma....

Daddy Issues Episode 6 of Modern Love sees us follow Maddy, a girl without a Father whose attraction to senior engineer Peter at work spells trouble ahead. Using any excuse to get near him, when he calls her Madeline it throws her off her game until he invites her to dinner. Despite her insistence to her friend that it’s not, partway through cooking she realizes it’s definitely a date. After dinner they lie down together in bed and she asks him to pretend being his Dad....

Next in line though is the beautifully poignant and emotional rollercoaster, More Than Blue. While the show is a tad overlong and has a few subplots that don’t add much to the story, overall this is a solid remake and a real tear-jerker from start to finish....

The Most Controversial Film This Year There’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that Mother! is the most controversial film to be released this year. Perhaps some of this is the root cause of marketing it as a thriller or a horror, of which this thought provocative, pretentious film is neither. There’s certainly an interesting use of symbology throughout and excellent cinematography is used to disguise what’s otherwise an incredibly bland film....

The Cliff Edge Episode 18 of Mr Queen begins with Bong-Hwan being reassured that the King will be back soon. For now though, the King has bigger problems to deal with in the form of Byeong-In. Their fight last episode spills over to the edge of a cliff, where Cheoljong makes a bold decision and jumps into the water below before Byeong-In can hit the killing blow. With no word over whether the King is alive or not, things do not look good for Bong-Hwan back at the palace....

The Exorcism We begin episode 6 of Mr Queen with Cheoljong reflecting on the strange arrogance that seems to have washed over the Queen. The Prince notices Cheoljong distracted and teases him, believing he’s thinking of a woman. Only, the Queen obviously isn’t a woman (not in Cheoljong’s eyes anyway!) and they joke that Bong-Hwan is an alien. Midway through talking though, Cheoljong realizes just why Bong-Hwan was dancing in the rain and races up to the palace....

The Hack Episode 6 of My Holo Love starts with Nan-Do arriving at the meeting and managing to convince the investors to stay on-board when he reveals that their AI might now be able to feel love towards humans. As he steps out though, he gets arrested by Gi-Ho for the hacking he did many years ago. He admits that it was him but that he’s not responsible for the blackout or the car crash....

The Choice Episode 10 of My Liberation Notes starts with us in the past, with Mr Gu (Ja-Gyeong) exhausted from his constant plight with the chairman and his subordinates. He hangs the phone up and collapses against the phone booth. Back in the present, Mi-Jeong finds Gu stumbling about drunk. Several wild dogs look set to attack him but Mi-Jeong steps up and stops them. Gu is not happy, pointing out that misfortunes are coming for him and with every one she’s stopping, an even larger one is going to rear its ugly head....

Dancing Swan Lake Episode 9 of Navillera begins with Deok-Chool and Chae-Rok walking together after the incident last episode. Chae-Rok phones Hae-Nam and decides to head over for dinner. It’s obvious though he wants to spend more time with Deok-Chool and make sure he’s okay. Seong-Gwan greets them outside, leading Chae-Rok to talk to him privately. Unsure what else to do, he opens up and admits that Deok-Chool has Alzheimer’s. The revelation hits like a sledgehammer to the heart, as Seong-Gwan is shocked by the news....

A vampire tale that often sucks but rarely bites The world isn’t exactly short of vampire movies but as we’re nearing Halloween (at the time of writing) it makes sense that another should fall onto our streaming services. Lacking in both blood and narrative bite, it does nothing new to stand out from the many other vampire films that have swooped onto our screens over the last few years. The film begins well enough....

The Season 1 finale of Normal People begins with Marianne encouraging Connell to submit his fiction work. He’s not so sure though but as they drive together things seem to be looking up for our couple. Surrounded by all her friends, Marianne celebrates her birthday but given what happened with her family last episode they’re obviously not present. Although she puts on a brave face for her friends and laughs through the celebrations, back home Connell sees her true emotions and tries to comfort her....

Pride and Prejudice Episode 6 of Our Beloved Summer begins back in November 2008. Yeon-Su’s family have always been poor and because of this, making friends and opening up has always been difficult for her.
