Set in a Philadelphia elementary school, the series stars Brunson as Janine Teagues, a positively eager teacher set upon changing the lives of her students. In season 2, Janine returns to Abbott Elementary with the rest of her co-workers: Ava Coleman (Janelle James), the unqualified principal; Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph) a seasoned teacher with a wealth of knowledge; Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter), a Philly native with important connections; Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti) a young colleague who was hired with Janine; and Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams), the newly-minted full-time teacher....

Switching Faces We return to Abyss today with a brief recap to yesterday’s ending before seeing Se-Yeon running away, calling the man a lunatic. When she gets to her car, she sees her boyfriend but when he grabs her, she flashes back to the night she died and sees images of herself tied up and murdered. At this point Se-Yeon passes out, saved from a nasty fall at the last minute by Cha Min who takes her to the hospital....

The Underground Marathon Usagi begins episode 4 of Alice In Borderland tending to a rabbit which she’s caught in a net. It’s obvious animals are still inhabiting this world and as she snaps its neck, she heads off down the street with her dinner. On the way, she passes a grief-stricken Arisu who happens to be lying face-down on the pavement. As she approaches, he tells her he’ll die soon. Usagi doesn’t seem to pay much attention until she sees him again later on that day and takes pity on him while the rain lashes down....

What Goes Around, Comes Around Episode 3 of Alrawabi School For Girls begins with Dina and Hawai engaged in a food eating contest. The latter ends up vomiting on the floor though, while Mariam tries in vain to convince her former-best friend that Layan and the girls are just playing her. Unfortunately Dina doesn’t see it, and worse, she continues to call out Mariam for her “lies.” Thee school is abuzz though as the charity event looks set to go ahead....

Signs Of Life Back for another week, Amazing Stories returns for a less-than-amazing slice of science fiction that leaves more questions at the end than it perhaps should. On the one hand, the episode itself does well to really bring you into this world, with a rising tension and plenty of drama across the 50 minutes but when the credits roll, there’s an overwhelming feel of disappointment as the lack of answers leave things on a slightly downbeat note, despite the feel-good ending....

The Rift Has Apple saved the best for last? Amazing Stories unfortunately hasn’t been as amazing as it perhaps could have been but it does manage to bow out its 5-episode run with a good enough conclusion to end things on a high. If you can look past some of the plot contrivances and lack of cohesion with the sci-fi elements, there’s a heartwarming tale here involving a rogue pilot that’s certainly worth a watch....

Well Acted But Lacking A Compelling Hook And Breathe Normally is an artistic, stylish and level headed film that fails to really grip as hard as it should. While the opening act of the film plays out with two separate storylines, when these converge and come together, the sharing of ideas and themes is well worked and enthralling. However, in a bid to make the film as artistic as possible, the abundance of long shots kills the pacing, making And Breathe Normally feel like it’s dragging on at times....

The Eye of Aldhani Episode 4 of Andor starts with Cassian scrambling for a med-pack. They’re set for Aldhani, but the reason why is shrouded in secrecy. Luthen encourages him to join and have “everything he wants”, including putting a stick in the Empire – and getting paid to do so. Luthen came for him specifically, not the Starpath unit. He wants five days with him, and promises that if Andor delivers, he’ll be 200,000 credits richer....

Andor Episode 5 Star Wars is back and this is certainly looking to be a better proposition than Obi-Wan Kenobi. Set during the years leading up to Rogue One, Diego Luna returns to the role of Cassian Andor, portraying a spy who will play a vital role in the early days of the Rebel Alliance against the totalitarian Galactic Empire. Specifically, we’re five years before the events of that movie, so expect plenty of tension and drama over the seasons....

Switching Places Following last week’s dramatic cliffhanger ending, Arthdal Chronicles returns for episode 7, and a deeper look at some of our characters. Among these is the newest face to proceedings, and the big reveal of the third piece of the puzzle, Saya. With the prophetic trio now revealed and the fight over Union leadership in full swing, Arthdal Chronicles continues to deliver, with another good episode despite a fair amount of flashbacks dotted throughout....

Judgment Episode 17 of Attack on Titan Season 4 opens with Hange shocked at the devastation out in the field. Following Zeke blowing himself up, Levi is a bloody mess. Hange believes their captain is dead but before they can check his pulse, the titan nearby starts to exude steam. And wouldn’t you know it, Zeke comes tumbling out, very much alive. And very much naked. Is anyone going to offer him some trousers?...

Bad Prosecutor Episode 9 Jin Jung is a troublemaking prosecutor that works at the Central District Office. With a healthy dose of justice and craziness, he punishes criminals way more than they deserve. Alongside him at the office is A-Ra, Jung’s partner. She’s a competent prosecutor who always judges issues objectively and manages to handle them with a clean finish. There’s also Do-Hwan, who believes money and power are everything and he’ll do whatever it takes to go higher up....

Bayside is a legendary punk band with melodic underpinnings carrying their trademark sound, and the act always offers poignant lyrics which are not only clever, but also showcase realism. Fronted by Anthony Raneri, who also plays guitar, the outfit has ascended into being a staple in the New York music scene. Back with The Red EP, the band expand on their sound, pushing it, but not losing the momentum that they’ve already built....

Slowing Down After last night’s reunion, Yu-Ra asks Young-Ae out for coffee. Suddenly, Seol-Ah appears and is shocked to see her mum there. Having told her new family that her parents died, she pretends she doesn’t know who she is. Young-Ae leaves devastated and collapses on the floor. Tae-Rang finds her there though and helps her up, asking him about Seol-Ah’s situation. Meanwhile, Joon-Hwi meets Cheong-Ah who offers him a rice ball....

Peeling Garlic Just as things were looking up for poor Cheong-Ah, she has to face a very difficult decision; her passion for her job or her relationship. Hae-Rang is proving to be very conniving as she slowly starts to understand what Yu-Ra and her sister have been up to. Beautiful Love has certainly managed to keep its faithful audience entertained throughout its long run time, and up until its last few episodes, while still keeping us guessing as to how it will unfold next week....

General Director Tae-Oh is smart and gentle but doesn’t mind using all sorts of tricks to achieve what he wants. Meanwhile, Je-In is the resident manager and has been there for 14 years, knowing all the ins and outs. She’s super competitive and also a workaholic. When her assistant leaves and buckles under the pressure, rookie Hyun-Joo is hired to fill the slot. The only trouble is, she has a history with the Director, which is slowly unveiled over time....

Rob Episode 4 of Behind Her Eyes begins with Louise in dream-land, talking to Adam while David is off barbecuing in a garden that looks eerily similar to the one in Teletubbies. Anyway, there’s no baby-faced sun here, just Louise living in euphoric bliss. Outside the dream world, David hands over a red and yellow pill for Adele to take. He checks her mouth, including under her tongue, to make sure she’s taken it....

Kill La Kill Kill La Kill is an excellent series filled with outlandish animation and strong humor. The characters also have colorful personalities that’ll either dampen or heighten fans’ excitement....

The Forbidden Marriage (2022) As his second leading role, we see Kim Young-dae finally get a character where he can show his range. He plays the tyrannical King Lee Heon who puts a nationwide marriage ban after his wife is murdered. So-rang, a con artist is roped in to pretend that she can be possessed by his late wife so that he can find closure and lift the ban. An otherwise dark tale, Young-dae plays off the cold King with hilarious ease and subtle comedy that makes The Forbidden Marriage an entertaining watch....

‘Look at this’. ‘Pick this up’. ‘Do as you’re told’. A lot of fun can be had ordering your poor protagonist on your screen to follow your command. The 1980’s and 1990’s were the text-interface graphic adventures’ golden era, thanks, in the main, to the efforts of Sierra and their various Quest titles.
