A mediocre misfire The Catholic School could have been a really well written thriller. Based on the Circeo Massacre, Netflix’s latest original attempts to piece together the events leading up to this atrocious crime back in the 1970’s, set deep in the heart of Rome and exploring the psyche behind the boys responsible for what happened. I won’t spoil what that crime is, especially for those unaware of the whole story, but the latter half of this film dives into the uncomfortable horrors that took place....

A suffocating, claustrophobic thriller, ‘The Chamber’ is definitely a hidden gem that builds tension and dread in a way that feels natural and never forced. With little in the way of marketing, it’s a shame more people won’t have heard of this as it really is a solid, albeit slightly flawed film. With an okay script and some good characterisation, this 90 minute film zips along at a steady pace before hitting an absolute cracker of a climax....

Elizabeth convinces Ana to jump ship from Apple to Theranos, maintaining that outsiders like them must stick together. Elizabeth’s mom, Noel, goes jogging with Lorraine and learns something about Richard. Lorraine lets it slip that Richard has been researching Theranos to file a patent to compete with Theranos. Noel warns Elizabeth that Richard is trying to sabotage her company because of petty resentment that she never asked for his advice....

Why We Fight Episode 5 of The Expanse Season 6 begins with Cara on Laconia again. She leads Xan out into the woods, where the creatures manage to miraculously heal him back to health. There’s three of them this time, and they depart when Cara approaches. Xan is alive, but he’s different from before. “The dogs fixed you,” Cara says happily, throwing her arms around her brother. But there’s something off about him....

She later meets with Gu Seong-hee (the girl she met while working at the factory before she went to college.) Dong-eun is working as a tutor and she has revealed to Seong-hee her intentions to get revenge on her gang of bullies. Seong-hee doesn’t think revenge is a good idea but is still willing to help Dong-eun open a new Instagram account to stalk the gang. Dong-eun is planning to take her revenge step by step and is not ready to let go....

A Mentally Shattered Megalomaniac Episode 2 of The Guardians of Justice begins with the world mourning the loss of Marvelous Man. It’s been 36 hours since the suicide but the world is acting like the heroes predicted – with all out chaos gripping the streets. The autopsy of Marvelous Man’s body seems to hint that this was an actual suicide, with the autopsy not indicating anything out of the ordinary. The bullet that killed Marvelous Man was created by Lockwood Industries....

While this is going on, Serena engages in some serious psychological warfare, taunting June from afar with notes and a desire to expand Gilead’s reach into Canada at the same time. As we saw from last year, there are followers for Gilead and this season they’re far more vocal. Canadians have started to turn on the refugees, with big signs and marches to get the Americans out. Serena is still very pregnant but elevated to a position of diplomatic power in an effort to bridge the gap between Gilead and the rest of the world....

Negative Balance Episode 2 of The Interest of Love starts with a look at Su-yeong’s past, including moving to Seoul and being all alone. She heads off and stays at an old house that’s in need of fixing up but the rent is cheap and she decides to take the unfurnished place. She’s at home in this dark and run-down house, likening it to her own personality. Su-yeong works hard, moving from job to job before eventually showing up at the bank....

Positive Credit Episode 4 of The Interest of Love starts with us in the past with a big flashback at New Year’s. The staff are hard at work rolling up bank calendars to send out. Sang-su ends up with a papercut though, which Su-yeong offers a plaster for. Alone with his love interest, Sang-su tells Su-yeong that he doesn’t want to be extraordinary, he has plans to be average. As he comes from a wealthy family, blending in suits him just fine....

I Never Thought I’d See the Day Episode 8 of The Kardashians Season 2 opens in Milan where Kourtney and Travis are touring around Milan and visiting churches among other places before their wedding outfit trial the following day. Kourtney jokes that she plans on running down the aisle to Travis for their wedding as a gesture towards him which the Blink182 drummer approves. The couple takes photos in their usual make-out pose and has a private tour of one of the churches....

A Man of God Episode 2 of The Kingdom Season 1 begins with a haunted Emilio reflecting on the events of the political rally. With blood stained over him and insomnia haunting him, Candia listens intently to his statement. Candia soon asks about Remigio Cardenas, learning that Emilio actually knows him. He’s well aware of Remigio’s violent history but claims he’s turned a new leaf since discovering religion. Well, when Candia reveals that he’s admitted to murder charges, Emilio looks visibly shook....

She finds a book that glows with purple energy and gasps when she discovers a particular spell in it. Using some of her own blood, she performs the ritual over her husband. His colour improves, and he wakes. She hugs him, but the mirror shows her embracing the air. Neither can she feel his heart beating. In the present day, the Briarwoods kiss. Delilah tells Sylas to trust The Whispered One and to stay in the manor, where he is safe....

Rift After Victor reveals the truth about what’s going on, episode 4 of The Minions Of Midas begins with Monica doing her best to get back into the swing of work. Luis meanwhile walks purposefully into Victor’s office and tells him the truth about his Father and the case. It turns out Luis knew about this conspiracy long ago and he was the one who intentionally sent Monica out to Syria, knowing that Said would tell her what’s going on....

Broadcast Number 7 Episode 2 of The Mire Season 2 opens in similar fashion to the first chapter. An inmate escapes from the repatriation camp during the war, charging through the forest. This happens to be Witek, who races up too see Elsa in the forest. She reveals that the Russians are closing in and he’ll be free from the camp soon. When that happens, she promises they’ll be together. Given her Father is a Nazi, it doesn’t look good for Elsa’s prospects though....

Cat and Mouse Episode 2 of The Mosquito Coast begins with Allie and Dina racing up to the motel. Unfortunately their car breaks down, forcing them to flee on foot. The pair hurry through a run-down mall, home to various junkies. Using a coke can as a makeshift shiv, Dina helps free Allie from his cuffs as the pair hurry on. Agent Jones meanwhile, heads over to Josh’s house. They’re desperate to find Allie and the family....

Mother Vs Daughter Episode 5 of The Politician Season 2 starts as a mother and her daughter Jayne watch the news revealing the scandal surrounding Dede’s throuple and Marcus being paid to write college essays. Both women argue about their political ideas as Jayne believes Dede has been lying for years but her mother defends her as she has been making a lot of positive changes for them. Jayne then leaves tovolunteer at Payton’s head office where Andrew asks her on a date....

An Emotional Volcano Waiting To Erupt The Power Of The Dog is a slow, quiet, thought provoking movie. It’s certainly not for everyone, and you absolutely need to go into this with no distractions. Make sure your phone is in the other room, shut off all the lights and settle in for a surprisingly unnerving and mature movie. There’s no hand-holding here; the themes are all scattered like puzzle pieces across the 2 hour run-time....
