A Breathtakingly Beautiful Film At its very basic form, The Shape Of Water is a modern retelling of Beauty And The Beast with a slight twist. This dark, fantastical, romantic tale is wonderfully told with deep, thematic and symbolic messages running throughout the narrative. The visuals are breathtaking, the creature immersive and all of this told through a slightly surreal, almost Bioshock-esque lens of 1950s America. Boasting some great acting performances and a 2 hour run time that seems to slip by, The Shape Of Water is one of the best films released this year and deserves its critical acclaim....

With six 30 minute episodes and another six on the horizon to be released next year, the short length makes it quick to blitz through the series. The show creators have said this was done deliberately to generate more buzz among fans, I can’t help but feel a couple of months wait rather than potentially a year would have been a better choice....

A Missed Opportunity Ending With A Truly Woeful Ending The Titan is a fascinating film to watch for all the wrong reasons. What begins as a promising, absorbing science fiction thriller quickly devolves into a nonsensical, directionless film full of plot holes and poor characterisation. It’s a shame too as there’s some genuinely good ideas here with a decent musical score elevating a lot of the scenes but around the midway point The Titan crumbles under expectation before aimlessly stumbling into one of the worst endings to a film released this year....

Choice Episode 4 of Thirty Nine begins with Chan-Young receiving her devastating stage 4 cancer diagnosis. If she undergoes chemotherapy, she’ll be given a year tops. Chan-Young vehemently declines to get chemo and walks away. The thing is, even if chemo is successful, there’s a 0.8% chance she’ll survive. So instead, she sticks with the six month diagnosis. Mi-Jo and Chan-Young fall out in the hallway of the hospital, broken up by Joo-hee phoning excitedly, revealing she’s come fourth in the lottery and that they should meet for drinks....

Adam is actually out in the parking lot, and we soon learn that he’s working the labour ward. Before he can even get inside, he’s stopped by a heavily pregnant woman outside. In fact, the arm is out already. As Adam begins talking to the camera, breaking the fourth wall, he finds himself in the maintenance lift and facing a real crisis – a cord prolapse....

Together, they drive up to the city of Cherepovets in search of resources. When they get there, they find the place completely deserted and full of dead people. It’s a grim scene and one that sees Pavel and Nikolay’s worst fears come to fruition. The doctor they were supposed to meet has hung himself in his office....

Circus Episode 15 of Tomorrow starts with us in the past, seeing Joong-Gil’s pained reaction to finding his wife dead. After slitting her wrists, she’s brought to the temple, where Joong-Gil apologizes and sobs for her, pleading with Ryeon not to go. But she does, and of course her suicide means she needs to start anew with her memories erased. As for Joong-Gil, his memories of Ryeon are stored away and locked, never to be accessed again....
