A Promising Start Squandered By A Ludicrous Change In Tone For the first 20 minutes or so, Indie flick Alien Psychosis holds a lot of promise. Armed with slowly mounting tension and a core trio of characters to work with, the opening act does a good job setting the scene and introducing the characters in an interesting way. Unfortunately for Alien Psychosis the film slowly unravels during its middle act before hopelessly falling apart for an incredulous, nonsensical finale that destroys the good, early work done in this film....

A Brilliant Thought Provocative Sci-Fi For The Ages Writer and Director Alex Garland’s Annihilation is arguably one of the best sci-fi films since Blade Runner 2049 and before that, Arrival. With a strong thematic core and an incredibly tense atmosphere, this sci-fi thriller plays more like a horror for much of its run time, making for quite the uncomfortable watch. Although there’s some confusing editing and the opening act feels a little rushed, Annihilation’s mystery and hedonistic imagery is enough to keep you enthralled through to the poetic, thought provocative climax....

Symbols Adapted from the novel Dünyanın Uyanışı by Şengül Boybaş, Atiye (The Gift) does a pretty good job setting the scene for the mystery to follow, with an ominous teaser early on for what’s to come before laying the foundations for the drama to follow. Episode 1 of Atiye begins with a funeral, where someone has been hurt by Atiye. A blood-stained woman arrives, who we soon learn is Atiye herself, and as she walks purposefully toward the others we presumably cut back in time to see that same woman painting symbols in her apartment....

The series itself follows Earn during his daily life in Atlanta, Georgia as he tries to redeem himself in the eyes of hi ex-girlfriend Van, who is also the mother of his daughter Lottie. Oh, and there’s also his cousin Alfred, who raps under the stage name “Paper Boi.” After a trip over to Europe in season 3, Atlanta returns to its usual schedule but with an intriguing question. Has Atlanta changed or have our characters?...
