The Best K-Drama Kisses Of 2022 (so far)
It is a well-known fact that one of the most anticipated scenes in any K-drama is the kissing scene. This is the moment when the romantic tension between the two characters comes to a full head and the only thing left to do is kiss. Here are ten couples whose chemistry during the kissing scenes gave us butterflies in 2022 so far. Oh, and the list below is in no particular order either!
Tae-moo and Ha-ri in Business Proposal
Episode 11 ending left us all breathless and Episode 12 picked up exactly where it left us, in Tae-mo’s penthouse for the official unveiling of Samantha and Rachel. This kissing scene was slow yet so passionate, sensual, and romantic. The actors did a great job portraying the deepening feeling of love between the characters and their chemistry literally jumped off the screen.
Kim Tak and Shin A-ri in Rookie Cops
Rookie Cops is probably one of the most underrated dramas of this year. Kim Tak and A-ri had us fanning ourselves and screaming OMG! during that staircase kiss they shared in the club. Their second kissing scene also had us clutching our pearls because they certainly brought the heat with their undeniable chemistry.
Wi Seung -Hyun and Ko Eun-Kang in Rookie Cops
By episode 8, Seung-Hyun and Eun- Kang could no longer keep their feelings for one another a secret and the confession was literally the cutest and hottest thing ever. This has to be one of the most perfectly executed kissing scenes ever. Everything from their gazes, to the music and the fireworks in the background was chef’s kiss. The ease of the kisses and response to each other screamed natural chemistry.
Choi Woong and Kook Yeon-Soo in Our Beloved Summer
Woong found himself at a loss when he could no longer deny that he was still head over heels for Yeon-Soo after being forced to go on a trip together. This kiss perfectly encapsulated their hidden longing for each other. Taehyung’s voice singing in the background as they softly kissed in slow motion remembering all the other times they shared a kiss was so nostalgic. Viewers were elated that they worked out their misunderstandings and had some Jujube tea.
Ryu-Sool Yeol and Lee Hui Gyeom in Bad and Crazy
Lee Dong Wook and Han Ji-Eun made our hearts skip several beats when they unexpectedly kissed in episode 7. It started with Hui-Gyeom insisting on dressing Ryu-Sool’s wound but things took a hot turn and we are certainly not complaining. The embers of love were still burning in their hearts and they ended up sharing a steamy and mature kiss. I liked that Hui Gyeom takes initiation with the second kiss and unapologetically kisses him with such fervor.
Cha Sung-hoon and Jin- Young Seo in Business proposal
Viewers cheered the moment Young-Seo drunkenly decided to cross the line by counting 1 to 3 before landing the perfect kiss on Sung-hoon. Since then this couple has given us heart-fluttering moments but the scene permanently printed on our brains has to be when they were on the verge of drawing the line again. The make-up kiss they shared is one for the books and when Sung-hoon took off his glasses, it was one of the sexiest moments in the K-drama world. From their body language to the intensity of the kiss, it was all thanks to the sizzling chemistry between the actors.
Yi san and Seong Deok- im in Red Sleeve Cuff
If there is a drama that teased viewers to the point of exasperation then Red Sleeve Cuff takes the cup. The way Yi san grabbed Deok-im and just challenged her to be honest with her feelings by kissing her made us swoon. His eyes displayed the pain and longing he had for her. Overwhelmed with her desire for him as well, she slowly starts kissing him back and allowing him to deepen the kiss. She was finally giving in to her love for the king, admitting that she did see him as a man. They prove a kiss can communicate so many emotions.
Hansu and Sunja in Pachinko
Lee Minho reminded us why he is one of the best kissers in the Korean entertainment industry in his comeback drama Pachinko. Kudos to both actors because they were able to completely capture the innocence, lust, and intense desire for each other in a newlyfound relationship. After such fiery kisses from wall to wall, it is understandable why Sunja fell under the bad boy spell.
Seon-Woo Kim and Cha Mi-jo in Thirty Nine
It took two peonies for love to bloom between Woo-Kim and Mi-jo. It was refreshing to see them handle the awkwardness of a one-night stand. Everything was on point, the lighting, the music, their facial expressions and the camera angles. The chemistry was just oozing off them so easily.
Lee Siu and Jin Ha-Kyung in Forecasting Love and Weather
Song Kang literally gave us butterflies as Lee Siu in his drama with Park Min Young. Their kisses varied from soft to heart-fluttering in every scene. The aesthetic backdrop brought warmth to every intimate scene they shared. They definitely understood the assignment when it came to chemistry and viewers couldn’t help but root for their happy ending.
Noh Go-Jin and Lee Shin-ah in Crazy Love
The confession that came before the kiss already had viewers giddy with excitement but the kiss that followed made our knees buckle. Who knew such a sweet moment could happen when you are on a ladder? From the angle of the kiss to how Shin-ah pulled him back to kiss him again, it felt like they would never stop.
Baek Yi-Jin and Na Hee-do in Twenty-Five Twenty-One
Even though the show gave us “emotional damage” at its finest, we still had some heart-thumping scenes where we collectively fell for Yi-Jin and Hee-do. We could all relate to the kiss they shared in the snow. The kiss showed so many emotions, the longing, the impatience, his deep love for her, and how he was holding back the whole time before. Their chemistry felt so heartfelt and pure and beautifully captured Yi-Jin’s decision to let go and give in to his feelings for Hee-do. And there we have it, our picks for the best K-kisses of 2022 so far! We’ll periodically update this page as the year progresses. What do you think of our list? Have we included your favourites?
