28 Days Haunted is the latest spooktacular reality show on Netflix, taking the concept of ghost hunting and dialling it up to 100. After finishing all 6 episodes, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here’s what we know:
What is 28 Days Haunted about?
Three separate teams head off to three different locations, each with three main players (1 “sensitive” and 2 paranormal investigators) to explore haunted locales across the US. They all follow the work of Ed and Lorraine Warren, who have been found out as frauds on more than one occasion, including the infamous Amityville Horror. Anyway, I digress. The paranormal investigators have figured out that it takes about 28 days to pierce the veil between the living and the dead, so they intend to wait it out for that length of time in these areas, believing it’ll help them communicate with the spirits beyond. Has 28 Days Haunted been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, 28 Days Haunted has not been renewed for a second season. Given the nature of the show’s content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix. Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. So far, 28 Days Haunted has been ripped to shreds by both audiences and critics. However, the show is currently doing a great job hitting the top 10 on Netflix across various regions across the world. Given the way this show is set up and the ongoing fascination with all things ghostly and paranormal, we predict that this will be renewed for a second season. This is the perfect sort of show to binge through and very moreish too! We’ll be sure to update this section with accurate details over the coming weeks and months when we know more!
What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. However, one could argue there’s scope for another season. We could see another 3 locations chosen but branched out beyond the US, with a number of potentially haunted hideouts across the world possibly chosen in the future. As mentioned above, we predict that this will be renewed but we’ll be sure to update this page in the future when more information is known though!
