Renewed Or Cancelled?
Boo, Bitch is the latest teen comedy on Netflix but with a litany of curses, a cliched story and a flippant tone, this one’s an acquired taste! If you’ve finished watching this one, you may be wondering if this one’s been renewed or cancelled. Well, read ahead and we’ll let you know what we know so far about a renewal.
What is Boo, Bitch about?
At the heart of this show are two senior best friends at high school, Gia and Erika. The drama really begins when these two take the plunge and make a last-ditch attempt to blend in with their classmates, attending a big party. After getting a bit drunk, they head home but on the way end up crossing paths with a truck. When Gia and Erika wake up in the morning, it would appear that Erika is a ghost… especially when they find her body has been crushed by a cow. How did this happen? How does everyone still see Erika and act like everything is okay? This forms the crux of the drama and mystery across Boo, Bitch’s relatively straight forward 8 chapters, leading to a final episode that lifts the veil and reveals all. Has Boo, Bitch been renewed for season 2?
At the time of writing, Boo, Bitch has not been renewed for a second season. Given the ending though, that’s perhaps not surprising given how definitive the story actually is. Generally Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate per episode. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars). Other times, it can take months before Netflix make a decision over a show’s future. So far, Boo, Bitch has had a pretty bad reception from critics and audiences alike. The main mystery of this season is wrapped up too, as mentioned above, although there is scope for a potential sequel. Despite that, based on the ending and reception, we’re predicting that Boo, Bitch will not be renewed for a second season. What we know about season 2 so far:
Barely anything is known about season 2 at this point, given Netflix have not green-lit a sequel. However, if the streaming giants do renew this one, there are a few different ways this could go. Most notably, we could see Erika also die or we could see Mia return in some wacky way for more shenanigans together. Despite these sporadic ideas, the ending is pretty final so we’re under the impression that there will not be a season 2. We will aim to update this page when more information becomes available!
