What is Reborn Rich about?
The series is based on The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate by San Gyung, and it follows the story of Yoon Hyun-woo (played by Song Joong-Ki) who is a reliable worker for Sunyang Group. He is unfortunately murdered by Jin Do-Joon, the youngest son of the Sunyang Group. Yoon gets reincarnated and wakes up in the body of Jin. Has Reborn Rich been renewed for season 2?
At the time of this writing, we are yet to get official news from JTBC about the fate of the show. Generally, Netflix gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly (ala. Squid Game, Bridgerton & Irregulars) Other times, it can take months before Netflix decide a show’s future. In the past, it was rare for K-dramas to be renewed for season 2 even with great ratings and huge fan demand. Of late, we have been seeing that change but the chances for Reborn Rich being renewed are low.
What we know about season 2 so far:
Although the chances for renewal are low, we are allowed to still dream. Based on the ending, we might need a new writer to take over season 2. Fans were disappointed with the open ending; the writers can choose which path Yoon Hyun Woo takes. We need a definite ending to this revenge story – and hopefully a happy one!
