Three Episodes Crammed Into One After a strong pilot episode, Lovecraft Country returns for an hour of drama that seemingly abandons everything that made that opening episode so endearing. While there’s still some stand-out moments here, it all feels sloppily handled and rushed which is a real shame. Episode 2 of Lovecraft Country begins with our characters arriving at the mansion. It’s all singing and dancing as George and Leti get acquainted in their new home away from home....

Jay gets approved to go to the Hub after a 7-day test. He takes a sedative because even Hub employees can’t know where their headquarters is. Herb tells Hazel that he keeps passing out and waking up at the same time, but it always feels like hours have passed. He shows her his old watch that’s on a different time. Hazel tries to convince him he’s crazy, but he can’t shake the feeling that something is off....

Alice starts to have a panic attack. She throws the phone and breaks it. “He wants to track us!” She yells. “Byron Gogol wants to control you!” At the Hub, Byron gives Hazel an old phone, explaining that it’s a recording device of her mother. His engineers used ten years of recorded calls from when her mom worked as a customer service representative at CAL Premium to predict real-time responses....

Gold Episode 12 of Made in Abyss Season 2 begins with Faputa and Juroimoh fighting off the remaining monsters that invaded Iruburu. As Faputa’s fighting her way through the mob of mindless creatures, she realizes that the power boost she attained from devouring the random Hollows from episode 11 isn’t enough. Regardless, Faputa continues gutting and tearing apart each creature, arguing that if they want to ruin her duty of murdering the other Hollow, they’ll have to get past her....

High Flight Episode 3 of Manifest Season 4 starts with Eden experiencing a Calling. She notices ash falling from the ceiling and begins drawing. At the same time, Michaela and Call experience a Calling of their own, with thunder rumbling overhead. Interestingly, Ben does not hear this. Jared shows up and sees all the evidence that Ben has collected in the attic. As a result, he decides to try and spearhead this case, giving it to the Registry in a bid to find Angelina....

The Big Wazowskis Episode 4 of Monsters at Work begins with a familiar gag from the first Monsters Inc movie. Roze tells Mike he needs to file his paperwork. Only, Mike now has to approve not write the papers! However, his arch-nemesis Gary shows up and manages to sweet-talk his way out of filing his. With the Bowloffathon coming up, Mike is forced to do his paperwork rather than getting involved in the games....

With a glacial pacing, several confusing time jumps and a disparate lack of exposition, Nowhere Man takes its sweet time to lay its foundations before ending with a snippet of promising plot progression going forward. We begin the first episode with a dreamy, hallucinatory segment, as piano chimes juxtapose against the harsh underbelly of a prison while inmates scream in despair....

In order to heal him from his wounds, Obi-Wan is taken to Jabiim and placed in a tank to heal. After some nice flashes to Vader, Obi-Wan awakens and, despite not being fully healed, remains desperate to get Leia back. Enlisting the help of Roken, he agrees to help Obi-Wan....
