Moving Pieces Across The Chessboard Episode 16 of Alchemy of Souls starts with Jang-Uk and Mu-Deok making their pact, as we saw at the end of yesterday’s chapter. After the pair dance around their true feelings, Jang-Uk suddenly snaps out of this as he mentions how Master Lee’s dog happens to be Gwigu and that, in turn, could mean that Lee knows Mu-Deok is actually Naksu. Meanwhile, Songrim asks for Jinyowon’s help in standing together as an alliance to weed out the Soul Shifters....

Back in 1979, a little film called Alien was released and 8 words changed the face of sci-fi horror forever. ‘In space no one can hear you scream’. Since then we’ve had 3 sequels and a less than inspiring prequel aiming to answer some of the questions raised through the first 4 films, building a growing mythology around the Alien universe. In this respect, Alien: Covenant feels like a definitive prequel, more so than Prometheus – it answers questions raised from previous films and aims to try and bridge the gap to the start of the Alien films....

The Charity Gala All Rise returns after its winter break and remains as consistent as it was in the first half of its season. With another decent episode, this legal drama continues to be enjoyable while still giving us enough character development and interesting trials along the way. Episode 12 of All Rise starts with Emily and Sara leaving to go to work while Lola and Mark meet on the beach to discuss his latest case which involves a woman named Joy who died due to medical negligence....

Broken Glass Episode 4 of Alrawabi School for Girls begins with Ruqayya’s pictures causing a big old scandal. Ruqayya’s Mother arrives to pick her up, takin the girl home while Mariam turns her attention to Rania and Layan. There’s a school trip coming up, and with Ruqayya not coming back to school, Dina is concerned about the group’s motives. After all, they’ve just destroyed a girl’s entire life and now it makes them seem like they’re no better than the bullies....

American Gigolo Episode 5 With an inspired Jon Bernthal on the driving seat, American Gigolo is a dark and gritty tale. The protagonist here is Julian Kaye, a former gigolo who’s released after serving 15 years behind bars for a murder he didn’t commit. With no interest in the life he had, and no idea who framed him, Julian is thrust head-first into confronting his past – with deadly consequences. If you’ve been following this one over the weeks, you may be curious to find out when the next episode is releasing....

Forgive Us Our Trespass Episode 3 of American Rust Season 1 starts with Pete Novick’s body being examined. As the autopsy gets underway, bags of evidence are collected as we await our answers. One thing’s for sure, the cause of death is definitely a homicide. But who’s responsible? When Del shows up, he learns that Novick died from blunt force trauma to the back of the head. It’s doubtful that he fell and it would appear like he was struck in the head....

A Well Written, Heartwarming French Film Balancing a blend of comedy and drama, French Netflix Original Bad Seeds is the perfect example of how to tell a simple story well. Themes around acceptance and inclusion are woven throughout the narrative and as the film reaches its climactic final act, Bad Seeds does a good job shaking off its cliched, stereotypical story. It’s still a little predictable at times but for the most part, this comedy does a great job getting its message across in a heartwarming way....

Casino Bar Episode 1 of Big Bet begins in the Philippines, 2015. A pair of guys show up in Korea Town, with one of them heading upstairs to a real estate shop, shooting the place up and taking off with a package. This paves way for Cha Moo-Sik to show up at his special spot in a lavish restaurant. He seems to be a regular here and he asks about an American waiting for him....

Dr. Han begs Chairman Yang and his gang for protection but they tie him up on a chair instead. One of the gang members is about to knock him out when Chang-ho and his people enter and tell them to hand him over. The two groups fight and Chang-ho retrieves Dr. Han. In the prison hospital, Chang-ho tries getting Dr. Han to tell him what is in Professor Seo’s paper....

The People Who Disappeared Episode 13 of Blind starts with Sung-Joon realizing that Jung In-Seong (Yoon-Jae) is our killer in disguise. He arrives in the hospital room with Sung-Hoon powerless to stop him. Crazy Dog shows up too, immediately demanding to know where Number 13 is. He removes Sung-Hoon’s oxygen mask and presses him for answers. He suddenly realizes he’s just passed Yoon-jae and charges out, scrambling down the stairs to find him....

His mum, Na Kuk-Hee convinced Producer Bae to stop the broadcast. However, Sung-Hoon brings up the vacation home and how his dad received sexual favours from Yoon-Jung, so he’s not exactly a saint here. Sung-Hoon demands he ask for forgiveness but instead, he grits his teeth and tells his son he has no intention of doing so. Sung-Joon shows up just in time as he holds a shotgun and shoots Sung-Hoon in the arm....

Blind Episode 2 Blind tells the story of three people; Ryu Sung Joon an enthusiastic detective, Ryu Sung Hoon a judge and Jo Eun Ki a social worker. These three find themselves involved in a prolific serial murder case. TaecYeon is part of the cast too, while Ha Seok-Jin and Jung Eun-Ji also round out an impressive casting. If you’ve been following this K-drama, you may be curious to find out when the next episode is releasing....

The Elephant in the Copy Room The last episode on the list in Bloodride is “The Elephant in the Room”, which is probably the weakest one of the series. While Netflix mentions that the episodes can be watched in any order, this may not be the best one to end the series with. Still, overall this anthology has been quite thrilling and enjoyable with enough interesting and creepy chapters to experience, perfect for anyone looking for some decent horror stories....

Dark Hole Episode 4 of Bulgasal: Immortal Souls begins with Si-Ho and Sang-Un hurrying away from Hwal, worried that he’s going to strike. They head back to the apartment together and talk about the sword, the same sword that Sang-Un wants to try and find in order to kill Bulgasal. However, Si-Ho suddenly springs big news on her – she’s pregnant! Hwal meanwhile, continues to reel from this revelation about Si-Ho....

Eccentric and dapper, Han-jun barges into her interview room after apparently sensing strange energy. Performing a shamanic dance complete with a rattle and fan, he claims that the vengeful spirit of an ex-employee is attached to hotel manager Ko Ju-won. Han-jun proceeds to expose Ju-won for sexually harassing and alienating the ex-employee until she committed suicide. A crowd gathers outside Café Minamdang the next morning, eagerly awaiting open time. In the building’s living quarters, Han-jun tries to rouse Nam Hye-jun, who is formerly of the National Intelligence Service and also his younger sister....
